Der Bildband "Land am Rand" ist ein Porträt der Region nordöstlich von Kiel. Die Probstei ist eine dieser ländlichen Regionen, die für Deutschland mindestens so typisch sind wie Berlin, Autobahnen und das Oktoberfest. Eine Region am Rande von allem. Am Rande von Kiel, am Rande der Ostsee und am Rande der Zeit. Die Bilder fangen den spröden Charme dieser Region ein. Realismus, manchmal mit einem kleinen Augenzwinkern, entstanden in den Jahren 2010-2022. Der Text fügt den heutigen Bildern die vergangene Zeit hinzu. Er stammt aus dem Reisebericht des J. Taillefas, der den Sommer des Jahres 1817 in der Probstei verbrachte. Entstanden ist das Porträt eines kleinen charmanten Landes, das es nicht nötig hat, der Nabel der Welt sein zu wollen.

The photobook "Land am Rand" is a portrait of the region northeast of the city of Kiel. The "Probstei" is one of those provincial regions that are at least as typical of Germany as Berlin, the Autobahn and the Oktoberfest. A region on the edge of everything. On the edge of Kiel, on the edge of the Baltic Sea and on the edge of time. The pictures capture the brittle charm of this region. Realism, sometimes with a little wink, taken in the years 2010-2022. The text adds the past time to the present pictures. It is taken from the travelogue of J. Taillefas, who spent the summer of 1817 in the Probstei. The result is a portrait of a provincial yet charming region, which does not need to be the navel of the world.
